Every holiday season, nine of our dolls find a child who needs one
We've partnered with One Simple Wish, a nonprofit that supports children in foster care. Each year we handmake dolls for their holiday party, where every child picks a gift of their own.

Why we started
This fall, a parent wrote to us about her daughter and the soft toy she carries everywhere. It reminded us of something we see in our workshop every day: a doll can be the one thing a child feels is truly theirs.
For children in foster care, that feeling is rare. Many arrive in a new home with very little of their own. So we decided to set aside part of our yearly work for them.
How it works

We make the dolls
Each autumn, our team in Ankara handmakes nine dolls from organic cotton and natural wool, in a range of hair colors, skin tones and outfits.

We send them to Trenton
The dolls travel together to the One Simple Wish office in Trenton, New Jersey, ahead of their annual holiday party.

Children choose their own
At the party, children walk through a toy wonderland and pick the gift they want. Any dolls left over stay in the office to be given out during the year.
About One Simple Wish
One Simple Wish is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Trenton, New Jersey. They grant wishes for children and young people who have experienced foster care, abuse, neglect or trauma. Each wish comes through a partner agency that knows the child, so every gift reaches someone real.
Our dolls are one small part of their work. If you'd like to do more, you can grant a wish through our shared giving page. You choose a child's wish, or make a donation, and One Simple Wish takes care of the rest.

Questions
Does Heartmade Doll receive any of the money I donate?
No. Donations made through our giving page go directly to One Simple Wish. We don't collect, hold or receive any part of them. The page simply shows what our community has given together.
Is my donation tax-deductible?
One Simple Wish is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit in the United States, and they send donation receipts directly to you. Please check with a tax advisor about your own situation.
Who receives the dolls?
Children supported by One Simple Wish and its partner agencies, many of them in foster care. To protect their privacy, we don't share names or photos of the children.
Do you use these donations in your advertising?
No. We share this page so you know what we do and how you can help, but we never use the children or their stories to sell dolls.
